Harris, Bob - $200.00TITLE: "Nursery Rhyme Clock"DIMENSIONS: 13.5h x 12.5w x 5d STYLE: shelf COMPOSITION: stained glass with night light DISPLAY LOCATION: Bangor Window Shade, 105 Main Street ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bob is 63 years young and lives in Bangor with his wife, Anne Reigstad. They are co-owners of Ymir Glass Design, creating dichroic glass jewelry. They are self-taught and have been working with glass for about six years, starting out by creating stained glass panels as a hobby. Bob's first interest is to create three-dimensional glass pieces, hence his creation of the glass shoe clock. He based this idea upon the nursery rhymes "The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe" and "Hickory Dickory Dock," with the little mouse on the minute hand of the shoe clock. ARTIST STATEMENT: "This clock is made up of many pieces of stained glass. These were soldered together to form the shoe with a clock on top of the shoe. There is also a night-light to go inside, to illuminate the shoe at night. The house is removable to replace either the battery for the clock or to change the night-light bulb. This shoe clock took about two weeks to develop, from a cardboard model to the finished product." CONTACT INFORMATION: www.ymirglassdesign.com (207) 990-4961 |
