Ford, C. - $100.00TITLE: "Magic Time"DIMENSIONS: 27h x 18.5w x 1.5d STYLE: wall COMPOSITION: painted wood DISPLAY LOCATION: Bangor Window Shade, 105 Main Street ABOUT THE ARTIST: A native of Maine, Ford began painting in oils at age 7, sold her first painting at 14, and had her first show in New York in 1969. In the 60's, 70's, and 80's, she exhibited throughout North America, with additional shows in Canada and Europe. With visionary conceptions, delectable colors, extremes of light value, and an unusual combination of influences, C. Ford presents a style that is unique in 21st century art. The paintings are philosophical statements and show a preoccupation with the moral and emotional nature of man. There is a spiritual quality to them and a strong message of hope. She retired to her beloved Maine in the late '80's and no longer actively participated in the art world except by special request. She had a studio in Bath for 17 years and moved to Edgecomb in 2004. She welcomes old and new collectors alike to her studio by appointment. ARTIST STATEMENT: "I became a cancer survivor in 2001, so all the paintings now are a celebration of life. It is a joy to participate in the daily vicissitudes of life, and hopefully all my work today reflects that attitude." CONTACT INFORMATION: www.cfordstudio.com (207) 882-9145 |
